Like many students, since COVID-19 cases spiked in March, Jose Mutarelli has been learning remotely. After being unable to return to Chicago from Brazil to finish the spring semester following spring break, he returned to his apartment in late August, with the hope of a less turbulent fall semester.

With a number of classes being done remotely and project restrictions uncertain, Mutarelli reflects on the challenges and value of a remote education so far from home.
